Hi my name is Taylor Ruppe I have cerebral palsy I’m going tell about my disability
I wore a cast
I was three years old
My right side
My parents noticed I wasn’t moving my right arm and leg. The stroke affects my entire right side.
I have no feeling in my right hand or leg,
I went to physical therapy to learn how to walk.
- I started walking at 18 months with a leg brace.
- My right leg turns out when I walk.
I also went to occupational therapy for my right hand.
- My right hand closes and sweats.
- It would stay closed, so my parents had to stretch my hand open
- I wore a brace at night.
I have had multiple surgeries on my right leg and arm.
Seizures often come with cerebral palsy.
- I had my first seizures at 18 months old.
- They tried numerous medications to stop the seizures.
- I continued to have seizures, especially when I was sick.
- I had brain surgery in January of 2009 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
I no longer suffer from seizures.
